David holds a Degree in Agricultural Science, a first class Honours Degree and Masters in Economics from Monash University and a PhD in Business Marketing from Cornell University, one of the USA's most prestigious Ivy League schools which consistently rates in the top ten business schools in the world.
David was one of the founding fathers of the David Syme Business School at Monash University. His academic career includes lecturing in economics and marketing at Monash University.
David has a 30-year history in global market analysis and his views and observations on various industries are often sought by business and current affairs media.
David has acted as an expert witness in precedent setting legal cases in Europe and Australia. There are two essential qualities required to be an effective expert witness: the ability to analyse a situation or set of facts at a microscopic level; and credibility in the jurisdiction in which the matter is being heard. David has passed these two tests by a demanding and exacting profession.
